My Postpartum Wellness Routine — Rebuilding Yourself at Home

Becoming a mom is the most beautiful gift in the world. But nobody tells you how much your body and mind will be put to the test after giving birth.

I’m Flora. I live in a small town where there’s no wellness center, no spa, no place to go to recharge and be pampered. No trusted person to leave my baby with for a little break. And on top of all that — Covid.

So I learned to count on myself. To rebuild myself alone, at home, with what I had. And today I want to share with you everything I learned — because I know many of you are living through the same thing.

1. Dietary Supplements — A Necessity, Not a Luxury

When you’re breastfeeding, your body gives so much. You’re feeding your baby, recovering from childbirth, managing sleepless nights — all at the same time.

What I understood is that dietary supplements are not a luxury — they are a necessity. Vitamins, iron, magnesium, omega-3s — our body desperately needs them after pregnancy and during breastfeeding.

My advice: don’t neglect your dietary supplements. Talk to your doctor and choose quality products. It’s the first investment you can make for yourself.

2. At-Home Beauty Care — Taking Care of Yourself Without Going Out

With a baby at home, going to a beautician or spa is almost impossible. So I learned to create my own beauty routine at home.

It’s not complicated — just a few minutes a day is enough. A good face cleanser, a moisturizing cream, a homemade mask once a week — and if you want a natural boost, aloe vera is one of my favorite ingredients for quick, effective skincare. These little rituals helped me feel good in my own skin even during the hardest moments.

Taking care of your appearance is not vanity — it’s taking care of your morale. When you feel beautiful, you feel better. And when you feel better, you’re a better mom.

3. Working Out at Home — Moving Without Constraints

Without a car, without a trusted neighbor to watch the baby, without a sports center nearby — how do you stay active?

I found the solution: YouTube. There are hundreds of free postnatal yoga, gentle pilates, and stretching videos for new moms. 20 minutes a day while the baby sleeps — that’s all it takes.

Movement helped me regain my energy, feel better in my body, and release accumulated stress. And the best part is that it’s completely free!

4. Herbal Teas and Wellness Drinks — My Daily Allies

During and after breastfeeding, I discovered wellness herbal teas. Fennel tea for lactation, chamomile tea to relax in the evening, ginger tea to boost immunity.

These little moments with my warm cup became true wellness rituals. A moment just for me, even just 5 minutes, that helped me breathe and recharge my batteries.

5. Accepting That Rebuilding Takes Time

The most important thing I learned after my pregnancy is patience with myself.

We want to get everything back quickly — our pre-pregnancy body, our pre-pregnancy energy, our pre-pregnancy life. But rebuilding after pregnancy takes time. And that’s normal.

This is the heart of any postpartum wellness routine — not perfection, but patience. Some weeks will feel easier than others, and that’s completely okay. What matters most is showing up for yourself, even in small ways, day after day.”

Be gentle with yourself. Celebrate every small progress. And remember that taking care of yourself is also taking care of your baby.

My Message to You

Whether you live in a big city or a small village, whether you have support around you or not — you can take care of yourself. With little means, with little time, even alone.

That’s what I learned. And that’s what I share with you every day on Nestly Guide.

That’s what a real postpartum wellness routine looks like: simple, doable, and kind to yourself.”

You are not alone. I’m here.
